The opportunity
Our Pawsey Summer Internship Program is run over the Australian summer holidays. This program offers promising undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to participate in real world projects and collaborate with leading researchers whilst using Pawsey’s world-class facilities.
This Program offers students an opportunity to build on their skills and experience in computational science and research projects. During the Program, interns collaborate with national and/or international supervisors and collaborators, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
Throughout the program, interns will receive guidance from Pawsey staff on best practices for using Pawsey resources, creating and presenting videos and posters, scientific communication techniques, and the importance of diversity and inclusion.
The Internship program includes (virtual) induction trainings. Through these trainings, interns learn about supercomputing, data management and scientific visualization. With the support of Intern Mentors, interns will also form a Community of Practice with other interns across Australia.
This year’s Pawsey Summer Internship Program will focus on research projects targeting:
- Your Computational Domain / Field
- Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence (ML & Al)
- Code Optimisation
- Data Management and Complex Workflows
- Quantum Computing
- Visualisation
