The opportunity

As part of this, we're strengthening how we translate research into high quality, trusted and impactful digital products through our research programs.
As the Product Portfolio Lead, you will deliver key strategic initiatives that strengthen digital product capability and improve research translation outcomes across CSIRO. You will develop practical solutions to help research programs create, sustain and improve innovative digital products.
Your high-level duties will include:
- Leading the delivery of priority product initiatives in the CSIRO Data and Digital Roadmap to strengthen digital translation capability
- Engaging communities of practice and delivering useful resources that support research teams to adopt and embed product practices
- Improving visibility and product lifecycle management for a diverse range of products and programs across the research portfolio
- Partnering with the Executive Manager, Digital Product Strategy, research leaders, Digital Leads, digital colleagues and external stakeholders to implement key opportunities Providing thought leadership, coaching and guidance to support the adoption of product best practices and continuous improvement

Location: Melbourne preferred, however any major Australian city with a CSIRO presence considered
Salary: AU$135k - AU$158k pa + 15.4% superannuation

As the successful candidate, you will bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional certifications in product, innovation, business, technology or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing innovative digital products from concept through delivery, adoption and value realisation in a research translation or commercial environment.
- Strong knowledge of innovation and contemporary product practices, with experience applying lifecycle, portfolio and evidence-based approaches to maximise impact.
- Demonstrated drive to deliver useful solutions and measurable outcomes, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and solve problems pragmatically.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries, build productive relationships and influence stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to develop clear, compelling content; present complex ideas; facilitate and coach others.
Desirable
- Experience providing digital product coaching, advisory or consulting services that improve product strategy, delivery and capability.
- Knowledge of emerging digital and AI-enabled product practices, including their opportunities and risks for responsible product development and research translation.
