CSIRO's Information Management and Technology (IMT) Web Solutions Team manages, develops and supports CSIRO’s website platforms. Underpinning the team’s purpose is a desire for staff and website users to have seamless, secure access to CSIRO’s websites, and communicate CSIRO’s science effectively.

The Web Solutions team within CSIRO IMT supports CSIRO’s management of public and internal communication websites. The team supports a variety of platforms including bespoke in-house developed, custom configured and hosted “off the shelf” products. The team operates using agile practices and has a policy of continuous review and improvements. Our environment encourages innovation and provides the technology and autonomy to get on with delivery.

The role of the Business Analyst within Web Solutions is to assist in the implementation and support of new and existing website solutions.

The successful candidate will operate in an agile and highly collaborative environment working within and across teams involving other business analysts, project managers, testers, developers, executive managers and other stakeholders. They will have a sound knowledge of technical IT concepts and the ability to translate business needs into technical specifications for the development team.

 

Your duties will include:

 

  • Capture and document website requirements across a variety of functions and business units.
  • Successfully complete assigned business analysis tasks as specified by due dates.
  • Use sound judgement when dealing with unexpected or competing project priorities or issues.
  • Contribute actively to all stages of project delivery, from end-to-end.
  • Work effectively and autonomously as part of a regionally dispersed, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Contribute positively to promote and stimulate a team approach, and develop sound working relationships with clients and business owners.

 

Location: Canberra or Melbourne preferred (Other considered)

Salary: AU$102k - AU$111k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

Tenure: Specified term of 18 months

Essential

Under CSIRO policy only those who meet all essential criteria can be appointed.

  • Demonstrated business analysis skills with a minimum of approximately 5 years’ experience.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and requirements-gathering skills using various techniques with clients and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage several competing project priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated customer-focused approach in formulating project solutions.
  • Proven ability and motivation to proactively seek out solutions under minimal direction.
  • Proven ability to promote a team approach and develop sound working relationships with team colleagues, clients and stakeholders.

Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the NV1 level
