Do you have a passion for training and development, coupled with technical expertise in Learning Management Systems (LMS)?  CSIRO has an exciting opportunity for a Training Systems Officer to join our ACDP Operations Team, where you'll play a crucial role in fostering regulatory compliance and excellence at the ACDP.

 

As a Training Systems Officer, you will facilitate essential training across microbiological containment, regulatory standards and role-specific competencies as required by facility staff and external associates, ensuring our site meets the standards and requirements. Your primary responsibilities will include the administration and maintenance of our electronic LMS, as well as supporting policies, systems, and procedures to achieve our training & regulatory objectives. To excel in this role, you should have a strong background in training and development, demonstrating proficiency in LMS administration. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as your well-developed interpersonal skills will be essential as you engage with a diverse range of stakeholders across the Business Unit, and enable you to facilitate effective training programs and foster a collaborative environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Under limited supervision, undertaking a range of administrative tasks to successfully administer ACDP’s electronic Learning Management System (LMS), including report generation, documentation management and resolution of issues identified by users.
  • Acting as point of contact for LMS users across site, providing training support and advice in the use of ACDP’s electronic Learning Management Systems.
  • Supporting the ongoing implementation, maintenance and optimisation of ACDP’s LMS, as well as maintaining ACDP’s training documentation, including site-based training matrix.
  • Supporting the development of training material for activities undertaken at ACDP and the delivery of on-site training.
  • Administering the training reporting system to identify, record and monitor training requirements and completions, security clearances and competency documentation for staff and visitors at ACDP.
  • Assisting in the delivery of the ACDP induction process, including the presentation of training material and administrative tasks relating to the induction framework.
  • Building and maintaining strong, positive relationships with facility users and staff through developing a thorough understanding of their training and compliance needs.

 

Location: Geelong, VIC – Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP)

Salary: AU$73K – AU$93K pa + up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

  • Essential criteria:
    • Relevant degree and/or equivalent experience in training and development, or in a similar role.
    • Experience in learning management system administration and demonstrated ability to configure and maintain existing electronic systems. (E.g. experience working as a Training Coordinator, System Administrator, or similar role). 
    • Demonstrable experience as an advisor and contributor to teams and networks of scientific and/or industry colleagues, with a proven ability to foster a culture of knowledge transfer, open communication, coaching and collaboration. 
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work with a range of stakeholders in a dynamic team. 
       
  • Desirable criteria:
    • Experience conducting training under a quality framework and associated procedures.
    • An understanding adult learning principles.
    • Experience in Learning and Development.

  • Undertake a pre-employment background check.
