We are seeking a Strategy Advisor – Planning to join CSIRO’s Strategy team.
As the Strategy Advisor, you will develop, design, and operationalise enterprise level strategies and plans. You will manage the annual planning cycle, conduct external and internal analysis and provide evidence-based insights to inform CSIRO’s strategy. Working closely with the Strategy Manager – Planning and Performance, you will frame, scope and solve strategic problems through structured, innovative and customer-focused techniques.

Your duties will include:
- Supporting the senior organisational leaders to develop strategies and plans that align with organisational goals, policies, and procedures.
- Contributing to managing complex strategy projects from initiation to completion by sourcing input from diverse contributors, integrating feedback from senior stakeholders, and achieving executive endorsement.
- Supporting the continual review, improving, and managing CSIRO’s annual strategic planning and investment decision making cycle.
- Scoping and developing high quality presentations, including Executive Team and Board papers, and other written or presentation materials.
- Demonstrating exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to be a trusted and effective influencer of senior thought leaders within the organisation.
Location: Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane preferred
Salary: AU$114k - AU$123k pa plus 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with 5+ years of experience across disciplines, preferably in a corporate strategy team.
- Familiarity and experience with working across strategy to execution lifecycle, leading or delivering elements of the lifecycle, including strategy development, program and project management experience – designing, planning, and budgeting, monitoring, and reporting leveraging strategic frameworks.
- Experience managing complex high-profile projects with multiple workstreams, extensive and diverse stakeholders, and tight deadlines. Proven ability to adapt to changing contexts and deliver results in an environment of high ambiguity and complexity.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake diagnostics and provide high-level strategic analysis and insights on complex topics to support strategic decision-making.
- Strong relationship management skills and the demonstrated ability to influence, advise and support internal & external stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including experience working with science, commercial or engineering staff and a proven ability to work with and influence stakeholders across all levels in an organisation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office (Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint in particular).
